Role Summary/Purpose
The GE Healthcare Edison AI team is looking for a Data Engineer working with data science teams addressing statistical, machine learning and data understanding problems in a commercial technology and development environment. In this role, will contribute to the development and deployment of modern machine learning, operational research, semantic analysis, and statistical methods. Potential application areas include healthcare diagnostics, data acquisition, data collection, data assessment and operations optimization.
The Data Engineer contributes to solving our customer’s toughest challenges in imaging departments by leveraging data and analytics. The Data Engineer will work as part of the product engineering team to create state-of-the-art business intelligence driven solutions across GEHC to elevate business analytics to a new level.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Data Science team, with data scientist, analytics engineers, regulatory and external experts.
- Collaborate with the wider product/project teams to implement solutions that are aligned with strategic directions.
- Demonstrate proficiency in implementation of logical/physical data models that support Data Modeling & Master Data Management.
- Support impact assessment and decision related to technology choices, design /architectural considerations, and implementation strategy.
- Perform a variety of data loads, data transformations, including synthetic data generation.
- Analyze, format, transform, structure the data into units that meet the needs of the analysis.
- Work with clinical partners, understand clinical expectations, and check the data along these expectations.
- Implement, document and support data engineering solutions in an agile environment.
- Support data scientists in all aspects of data design and management, considering regulatory expectations and statistical approaches to data selection.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Exposure to Scripting (Python, Perl, bash, etc.) and experience.
- Understand logical and physical data models, big data storage architecture, data modeling methodologies, metadata management, master data management, data lineage, and data profiling.
- Experience with relational data bases (e.g. MariaDB) and ETL tools/processes (e.g. Talend).
- Experience with scripting languages.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Able to participate on meetings in English (daily standup, technical discussions).
