Mechatronics Engineer állás Budapest

Mérnöki / műszaki állások
Jelentkezem

We are looking for an experienced for our Budapest office to take a key role in designing and building Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments for space systems.

This is a hands-on, system-level engineering role at the intersection of software and hardware. You will act as a bridge between our software engineering team and physical hardware infrastructure, enabling reliable interaction with embedded systems throughout development and integration.

The HIL environments to be built will support a wide range of systems, from development boards and subsystem-level units to, in the future, complete satellite platforms. As these environments are currently being defined, you will have significant ownership in shaping their architecture, interfaces, and operational model.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with real hardware, enjoys solving complex cross-domain problems, and can take responsibility for building and maintaining robust, production-grade engineering infrastructure.

This role involves building and evolving HIL systems from the ground up, rather than operating existing test frameworks.

Mechatronics Engineer

Key responsibilities

  • Create the architecture and detailed design, integrate and maintain HIL environments for embedded space systems
  • Integrate hardware components, simulators and software into cohesive systems
  • Support integration of development boards and subsystem-level hardware
  • Perform and support system-level debugging across hardware and software boundaries
  • Build and maintain laboratory infrastructure, including wiring, instrumentation and setups
  • Develop internal tools and scripts to interact with and control HIL systems
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers to enable hardware-in-the-loop workflows
  • Take ownership of reliability, maintainability and scalability of HIL environments
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and system-level descriptions

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong system-level thinking and ability to understand complex systems end-to-end
  • Hands-on experience with hardware systems and laboratory work
  • Solid understanding of electronics (analogue and digital fundamentals)
  • Ability to read and interpret block schematics, electronics circuit drawings and PCB layouts
  • Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers
  • Proficiency in Python or a similar scripting language
  • Experience with communication interfaces (e.g. UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet)
  • Familiarity with measurement tools (e.g. oscilloscope, logic analyser)
  • Strong debugging skills across software and hardware domains
  • Proactive mindset with a problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines

Considered a Plus

  • Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems or real-time simulation
  • Experience with system validation, testing, or test environment development
  • Background in space systems, aerospace, or other safety-critical domains
  • Familiarity with satellite subsystems such as EPS, OBDH, or AOCS
  • Experience with space communication technologies such as SpaceWire and CAN-based system
  • Working knowledge of C in an embedded context
  • Experience with real-time or embedded operating systems (e.g. RTEMS, Embedded Linux)
  • Experience with automation, CI/CD, or hardware-integrated development workflows
  • Experience with ECAD tools (e.g. Altium Designer) or PCB design
  • Experience with MATLAB / Simulink for system modelling, simulation, or control development
  • Knowledge of ECSS or similar space industry standards
  • Experience building production-grade engineering or lab infrastructure

What Remred Offers You

  • Be part of the development of the first-ever Hungarian satellite platform
