Network Operations & Support

Operate, maintain, and support existing on‑premise and virtualized network environments based on technologies such as Extreme Networks, Cisco, Fortinet, and cloud networking services

Ensure availability, performance, and security of network infrastructure across physical, virtual, and hybrid environments

Execute standard configuration changes following defined procedures and change management processes
Firewall & Network Security Operations

Operate and maintain firewall and network security platforms (e.g. FortiGate, Cisco Firepower)

Apply and manage firewall rules, NAT policies, and security configurations according to defined standards
-
Support day‑to‑day operation of cloud networking security controls (Azure NSG, AWS Security Groups, NACLs)

Assist with network segmentation and secure traffic flows under guidance of senior engineers or architects
Network Administration & Lifecycle Management
-
Administer existing customer network environments including: On‑premise networks, Cloud networks (Azure VNets / AWS VPCs), Kubernetes cluster connectivity (from an operational perspective)

Support lifecycle activities such as: Firmware and software updates, Hardware replacements. Certificate renewals, Configuration standardization

Support and troubleshoot network connectivity issues in Kubernetes environments: Pod‑to‑Pod and Pod‑to‑Service connectivity, External access, Ingress and Egress flows

Operate existing CNI implementations (e.g. Calico, Cilium, Flannel) following defined standards

Apply and maintain Kubernetes Network Policies as specified by platform and security teams
Cloud & Hybrid Connectivity Operations
-
Operate and monitor hybrid connectivity solutions: Site‑to‑Site VPN, Client VPN. ExpressRoute / Direct Connect (where applicable)

Support routing, CIDR management, and traffic flows across on‑prem, Azure, AWS, and Kubernetes environments

Operate private connectivity patterns (Private Endpoints, internal load balancing)
Second-Level Network Support
-
Act as 2nd‑level support for network and connectivity issues

Analyze incidents escalated from service desk or monitoring systems
-
Resolve recurring operational issues and support problem management
Monitoring, Observability & Administration
-
Monitor network environments using central management and monitoring tools
-
Analyze logs, metrics, and traffic flows to detect issues proactively
-
Support observability for cloud and Kubernetes networking (flow logs, dashboards, metrics)
Incident & Problem Management

Handle incidents using Jira and defined ITSM processes
-
Document incidents, resolution steps, and preventive actions
-
Support root cause analysis for recurring or major network incidents
-
Communicate technical status and resolution progress in a clear and structured manner
Network Optimization & Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for operational improvement, standardization, and automation

Assist with performance optimizations under guidance of senior engineers

Support modernization initiatives such as automation, centralized management, and cloud integration
Infrastructure as Code & Automation (Operational Use)

Operate and maintain network infrastructure managed via Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g. Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation)

Apply changes using existing IaC pipelines and guidelines

Review configuration changes in Git-based workflows

Reduce manual tasks by following and extending existing automation patterns
Documentation & Reporting

Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of: Network configurations, Operational procedures, Known issues and workarounds

Document changes in accordance with internal standards

Contribute to operational reports on incidents, stability, and improvements
Disaster Recovery & Resilience (Operational Execution)

Execute disaster recovery and failover procedures for network components

Support testing of backup, recovery, and failover scenarios

Ensure operational readiness according to documented DR concepts
Audit & Compliance Support

Support regular network and security audits
-
Ensure operational compliance with internal policies and external regulations

Maintain documentation required for regulated and auditable environments
International Collaboration & On‑Call

Collaborate with an international IT, network, and platform team

Participate in cross‑country operational activities

Take part in standby/on‑call duties as part of the network operations team

Certifications: CCNA, Fortinet, Extreme Certified Associate or comparable

3+ years of experience in network operations or network engineering roles
-
Solid understanding of: TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, firewalls, Load balancing fundamentals

Practical experience operating Azure and/or AWS networking
-
Basic to solid understanding of Kubernetes networking concepts
-
Experience troubleshooting connectivity issues across on‑prem, cloud, and Kubernetes environments

Experience working with centrally managed and standardized network environments
-
Strong operational mindset with focus on stability, reliability, and documentation

Experience working with ticketing systems (e.g. Jira)

Familiarity with ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem)

Experience with Infrastructure as Code from an operator/user perspective

Basic knowledge of Git-based workflows

Ability to work effectively in an international team (2+ years experience)

Clear communication skills for technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Experience with administration of phone systems (advantageous, not required)
