Warehouse manager job opportunity
Tasks
- Manage warehouse activities, motivate, organise, and encourage teamwork to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
- Liaise with customers, partners, subcontractors for a smooth, timely, high quality operation
- Coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly, and dispatch of goods
- Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
- Have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
- Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
- Plan future capacity requirements
- Organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress
- Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Brief team leaders on a daily basis
- Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
- Oversee the operation of warehouse management systems and automated storage and retrieval systems
- Cooperate regularly with other warehouses to increase efficiency of the consolidated Fulfilment activities
- Plan, schedule and optimise linehaul routes to ensure fast and cost-effective deliveries
- Develop and maintain internal processes and protocols, and ensure their compliance
- Oversee and maintain parcel tracking and traceability logic, keep organised records of shipping documentation
Expectations
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as Warehouse Manager in a multinational environment using warehouse management systems
- At least mid-level qualification in the field of logistics/ business information systems/ retail management
- Ability to take the initiative, to build external and internal relationships and partnerships
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise
- An analytic mind and good numeracy skills
- Ability and flexibility to manage multiple tasks and deliver to deadlines
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- People management and team-working skills, delegate work and explain ideas
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Technical and IT skills, particularly when it comes to database management and spreadsheets
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level
- The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- A flexible approach to work
- Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Driving license and access to your own car (business travel costs will be reimbursed)
Preference
- Knowledge of e-commerce and B2C industry is highly advantageous
- CMS experience desirable
- Experience in a logistics/fulfilment company
