As a (MAIT), you will be responsible for leading independent quality assurance across all manufacturing, assembly, integration, and test activities The position ensures process discipline, correct documentation, configuration integrity, and timely resolution of quality issues through the leadership of Product Assurance Engineers. As the organization grows, additional roles or groups may be identified and developed under this position’s scope. The PQM holds stop‑work authority and safeguards quality requirements for both internal programs and external customer test operations.Your work will ensure agile compliance and practical interpretation of evolving Space Industry requirements.
Production Quality Manager
Key responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coordination

Lead and mentor the Product Assurance Engineers.

Set daily/weekly priorities (process checks, readiness verification, logbook reviews, NCR support, audits).

Ensure the team has the right competences and maintains consistent quality practices and clear communication.
Quality Oversight in MAIT
-
Provide independent quality assurance across all MAIT activities.
-
Ensure proper use of released documentation and correct process execution.
-
Ensure internal quality and safety rules are upheld during external customer test operations.
Readiness & Process Validation (executed by PAEs, assured by PQM)
-
Ensure production readiness verification.
-
Ensure production documentation reviews for completeness and accuracy.
-
Ensure process validation activities are performed and reported.
-
Ensure spot checks confirm correct execution of work instructions and test procedures.
-
Ensure QC activities are carried out as required.
Quality Authority
-
Stop or prevent work when readiness or quality requirements are not met.
-
Escalate issues appropriately and ensure timely resolution.
Nonconformance & CAPA Management
-
Ensure effective support to the NCR process (containment, documentation, root‑cause analysis, corrective actions).
-
Ensure support to NRB activities and verification of CAPA effectiveness.
Risk, Audit & Compliance Oversight
-
Identify and escalate risks related to production, integration, and testing.
-
Support internal/external audits and customer assessments.
-
Ensure configuration and documentation integrity for internal and customer hardware.
Continuous Improvement
-
Drive lessons learned collection and implementation.
-
Support improvement initiatives to enhance process robustness and reduce defects.
Standards & Facility Compliance
-
Ensure MAIT processes comply with relevant ECSS standards (e.g., ECSS‑Q‑ST‑10C, ECSS‑Q‑ST‑70 series).

Ensure correct use and verification of controlled areas (ISO 8).
-
Ensure operator qualification and certification for high‑reliability tasks are maintained.
Documentation & Milestone Assurance
-
Ensure Mandatory Inspection Points (MIPs) and Key Inspection Points (KIPs) are properly defined and managed.
-
Oversee compilation of End Item Data Packages (EIDP), ensuring full traceability and verification before shipment or integration.
-
Support Requirement Verification Matrices (RVM) to ensure the “as‑built” configuration matches the “as‑designed” requirements.
Requirements
-
Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Systems or a related technical field.
(Or equivalent demonstrated experience in high‑reliability production environments.)
-
5–7+ years experience in high reliability manufacturing, assembly, integration, or test (e.g., aerospace, space, defence, medical, automotive safety, or similar regulated sectors).

Proven experience in quality assurance or product assurance roles with hands on shop floor presence.

Experience in:

Nonconformance management (NCR) and MRB participation
-
Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventive Actions (RCA/CAPA)
-
Process verification, readiness checks, and documentation control
-
Inspection or oversight of special/critical processes (e.g., soldering, crimping)
-
Capability to lead a small teams and coordinate oversight resources.
-
Understanding of:
-
Cleanroom practices (ISO 8 usage)
-
ESD control requirements
-
FOD prevention
-
Calibration and equipment control principles
-
Familiarity with configuration management and as-built / as-designed alignment.
-
Strong communication skills in a multi‑disciplinary environment.

High attention to detail and systematic work habits.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in parallel

Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Familiarity with regulated, high-reliability environments
Considered a Plus

Experience with ECSS standards is an advantage; familiarity with regulated, high-reliability environments is expected.
