Our Partner, a respected professional services firm based in Budapest, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who will take full responsibility for client accounting processes while coordinating and mentoring junior team members.
Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for the complete accounting cycle of assigned clients and for overseeing junior colleagues’ work, including:
- Coordinating and delivering full-scope accounting services for a diverse client base.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
- Preparing and reviewing tax filings, statistical reports and other regulatory submissions.
- Compiling annual financial statements.
- Actively supporting year-end audit processes.
- Participating in tax authority inspections and maintaining professional contact with authorities.
- Keeping track of changes in accounting and tax regulations.
- Maintaining continuous client communication in both Hungarian and English.
- Contributing to professional knowledge sharing through articles and internal presentations.
- Training, supervising and supporting junior accounting colleagues.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate:
- Has at least secondary-level education in finance or accounting.
- Is a registered certified accountant.
- Thinks in systems and processes, and works in a structured manner.
- It brings 3–5 years of experience from accounting and/or audit roles.
- Possesses confident, up-to-date accounting and tax expertise.
- Has strong, practical Excel skills.
- Can work comfortably in English in a client-facing setting.
