We are looking for a Strategic Buyer for our partner company, located in the Budapest metropolitan area, to play a key role in an exciting manufacturing transformation.
Our partner, a well-established international manufacturing company, is expanding its footprint in Hungary and building up its local operations. This is not a typical procurement role — it is an opportunity to create, shape, and drive impact from the ground up.
You will take ownership of developing a localized supplier network in Europe while aligning with global sourcing strategies. Instead of stepping into an existing system, you will design and implement procurement structures, processes, and partnerships that will define long-term success.
Develop and implement local procurement strategies aligned with global objectives
Lead end-to-end sourcing: market analysis, RFQs, supplier selection, and contracting
Drive supplier localization initiatives supporting manufacturing and assembly
Conduct commercial negotiations and manage contracts
Evaluate suppliers based on capability, quality, capacity, and cost efficiency
Establish transparent procurement processes and supplier evaluation frameworks
Develop strategic supplier relationships and drive performance improvements
Collaborate closely with engineering, production, quality, and international procurement teams
Support factory relocation and broader supply chain transformation projects
Why This Role Is Different
You build the supplier network – not just operate it
Direct impact on cost structure and supply chain strategy
Combination of strategic thinking and hands-on execution
Opportunity to shape procurement processes and standards from scratch
Involvement in complex, high-impact international projects
Clear path toward long-term career growth and leadership opportunities
Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic procurement within an international manufacturing or assembly environment
Experience cooperating with European and Asian supplier networks
Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities
Professional level English language skills
Ability to operate independently with clear ownership of responsibilities
Opportunity to build and scale a local procurement function from the ground up
