Your new role
As a Global Allocation Planner, you will play a key role within the Supply Chain Management organisation, responsible for balancing global supply and OEM demand through effective allocation strategies. You will work cross-functionally within SIOP/IBP frameworks to ensure fair, transparent, and performance-driven product allocation across manufacturing plants and customers.
The role reports into a senior supply planning leadership position and offers future people leadership potential.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Developing and executing global allocation strategies aligned with SIOP objectives, demand forecasts, and production capabilities
- Collaborating closely with demand planning and supply planning teams to address regional demand variations
- Defining standardised system usage to support prioritisation and automated allocation rules (e.g. fair-share models)
- Monitoring allocation performance through KPIs and data analytics, driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Identifying allocation-related risks and creating mitigation strategies to minimise supply chain disruptions
- Leading allocation activities during shortage or crisis situations, working closely with procurement and manufacturing teams
- Acting as a key decision interface for allocation arbitration during constrained supply scenarios
- Analysing demand and supply plans using standard planning tools (e.g. IBP, ERP systems, Excel)
- Contributing to global organisational and supply chain initiatives as a key user and subject-matter expert
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you bring strong supply chain expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to operate in complex global environments. You have:
- 8+ years of experience in supply chain and operations planning
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a supply chain–related field; professional certifications are an advantage.
- Expert knowledge of the automotive industry, with at least 3 years of experience at Tier 1 suppliers
- Proven experience in allocation planning, supply planning, or global manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of allocation principles, demand forecasting, and inventory management
- Hands-on experience with supply chain planning systems and ERP tools; strong analytical capability
- Advanced skills in data analysis, with the ability to turn insights into actionable decisions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in an international environment
- A structured, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- A proactive, solution-focused attitude and high adaptability in changing market conditions
- Experience with SAP IBP
- Background in material planning and allocation environments
