We are looking for an experienced Senior System Development Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced automotive display systems, including Instrument Clusters, Infotainment Head Units, and Head-Up Displays.In this position, you will play a key role in transforming customer and stakeholder expectations into structured system requirements and scalable system architectures. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will ensure seamless integration across software, hardware, and validation activities while supporting the delivery of high-quality automotive products.
System Engineer - Automotive Displays
Main duties and responsibilities
- Analyze customer and stakeholder needs and convert them into clear, structured, and verifiable system requirements.
- Create and maintain system architecture, functional decomposition, interfaces, and data flows.
- Ensure full traceability between requirements, architecture, and verification activities.
- Manage requirements using IBM DOORS Next Generation (DNG).
- Develop system models using SysML in Enterprise Architect.
- Support ECU bring-up, system integration, and debugging activities in laboratory environments.
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams to investigate and resolve integration issues.
- Incorporate Functional Safety (ISO 26262) requirements into system design.
- Contribute to FMEA activities and technical compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
Required competencies
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive systems, ECU, or software development.
- Fluent English.
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM DOORS Next Generation.
- Practical knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML using Enterprise Architect.
- Good understanding of ECU hardware and automotive communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, SPI, and FlexRay.
- Previous experience with automotive display systems is considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with ISO 26262 and ASPICE development processes.
