Our client is looking for a hands-on Tax & Finance Manager to lead the local finance operations of its Hungarian entity. In this key role, you will be responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, treasury-related activities, and the professional development of the local finance team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing daily financial operations and ensuring accurate monthly and annual reporting
- Ensuring compliance with Hungarian accounting standards, tax regulations, and group reporting requirements
- Managing tax-related activities, including VAT, CIT, local business tax, innovation tax, transfer pricing, and other relevant obligations
- Reviewing expenses, payment requests, documentation, and approval processes
- Supporting payroll-related calculations and ensuring compliance with labour and tax regulations
- Maintaining and improving internal control processes and supporting audit requirements
- Monitoring cash flow, working capital, banking processes, and FX-related exposure
- Providing financial insights to support budgeting, forecasting, pricing, margin, and profitability analysis
- Coordinating with external auditors, banks, and other financial partners
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the local finance team
What you need to succeed:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax, or a related field
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably including 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role
- Strong knowledge of Hungarian accounting and tax regulations
- Advanced Excel and SAP skills
- Qualification to submit annual reports; ACCA, CPA, or equivalent qualification is an advantage
- Excellent English communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and business-oriented mindset
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work confidently in a changing, international environment
